Case 2: RADIOLOGIC ASSESSMENT

      Film Review

Discussant: CHAAN NG, MD (Dr Grothey Case)

Images:

A peripheral lesion is shown in segment VIII, approximately two centimeters in size. Another two lesions also appear in the right lobe and are approximately one centimeter each. A fourth lesion appears in segment V, down at the inferior tip of the liver, and is approximately 1.5 cm. The lesions are nowhere near vessels.

It is difficult to determine whether lesions that are one centimeter or smaller are metastatic disease or a benign process. Given the patient’s history and the fact that all the lesions appear to be similar, I would say that they are all probable metastases.
